Our recent campus expansion demonstrates our vision and commitment to creating a naturopathic experience for our students while in medical school. This means creating an environment and a support system that promotes not only student learning, but student health and student community. Need a break? Utilize any one of SCNM’s student lounges or community spaces to connect with fellow students, faculty or staff. Access the yoga studio between classes to connect your mind, body and spirit. Work out in the fitness room or stop by the SCNM Cafe, our healthy café, serving delicious and healthy food, juices and snacks. Our teaching kitchen offers cooking courses, equipped for video production so the learning can be shared with patients and the greater community.
Conveniently located in Tempe, Arizona, in the breathtaking Valley of the Sun, the SCNM campus lives at the intersection of ancient wisdom and contemporary innovation, of native truths and new horizons. From the medical center reception to the medicinary to the classrooms teeming with students, the SCNM campus is a powerfully compact vessel of naturopathic learning and healing.
Abundant light, evidence based design and sustainable and non-toxic materials create an atmosphere that delights the eye as it inspires healing, learning and community engagement. The Commons is pending for LEED Platinum certification, and will be one of only a handful of buildings in Arizona to achieve this highest level of LEED certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. LEED certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy.

SCNM Pain Relief Center
Pain afflicts more than 100 million people and most find they have to travel to multiple places to manage their symptoms. At SCNM, we specialize in addressing the underlying causes and provide pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic solutions, including manipulation, acupuncture, injection therapy, platelet-rich plasma therapy, physical therapy, fluoroscope imaging, cryo-nitrogen therapy and more. SCNM’s Pain Relief Center employs a model of care based on a shared philosophy of care and supported by structures, processes, evaluations and continuous improvement. By integrating the health care perspectives and practices of interventional pain specialists, acupuncturists, naturopathic physicians, physical therapists, and massage therapists, the Center decreases reliance on hierarchy and respects the contributions of all members of the treatment team, including patients.
For most people adopting a healthy diet means making a major shift in eating habits. The Teaching Kitchen is the home for SCNM’s community education classes in nutrition and cooking. Rather than just learning about healthy diets, participants get to eat and help prepare delicious recipes and meals
The most knowledgeable staff in the Southwest provides a full range of supplements, tinctures, homeopathic remedies, vitamins, books and more. And by shopping in the Medicinary, a 501 (c)(3), you are helping to support the students at SCNM and the work SCNM does in the community with underserved communities.
SCNM offers a variety of yoga and other healthy movement classes to the public. The new light-filled studios will help you manage your mind/body balance and relax and stretch your muscles.
