Dr. John A. Robinson

Class of 2006

Dr. John A Robinson (Sonoran 2006) is known as a leading expert in hormone replacement therapy—and for good reason.

During the past decade, Dr. Robinson has trained in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) with subcutaneous pellets. He worked with the late Gino Tutera, MD, FACOG, an internationally known doctor and one of the pioneers in BHRT, for nine years. In addition, Dr. Robinson developed a trademarked system with a unique approach to treating thyroid issues (known as Thyrozone™).

In December 2011, Dr. Robinson published his book “The Hormone Zone,” inspired by the need to share his unique view of health and hormones with the world. The book comprises years of experience and research related to endocrinology and metabolism, hormone imbalances, thyroid disease and natural health approaches.

“I had all of these things in my head about naturopathy and a comprehensive approach to medicine … but I wasn’t able to voice them as much as I wanted to in my busy practice,” Dr. Robinson said. “I wanted a way to share my comprehensive approach to health.”

Dr. Robinson’s interest in health and wellness began around age 17 when he made the conscious decision to pursue the healthiest lifestyle possible. He practiced massage therapy for 14 years and became a founding member of the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA)—“back when it was a small school renting out an elementary school classroom,” Dr. Robinson added. He then began looking to further expand his knowledge of health, which led him to pursue naturopathic medicine.

“Looking back, I could have chosen conventional medicine, but I was following my heart,” Dr. Robinson said. “I wanted to do what I wanted to do, and I didn’t want to be dictated, which is what conventional medicine would have done … I wanted to have a lot of freedom.”
