Community Outreach
Many refer to Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine as the innovative institution that pioneers programs in Environmental Medicine and Naturopathic Pediatrics, provides students with online learning materials, and creates intensive course in which experts from around the world share their knowledge. Since its inception in 1993, nearly 700 doctors have graduated from SCNM sharing with patients the elegant beauty and healing power of nature. Students come to Southwest College from around the world to build their career and change the lives of others.
Over the past 16 years SCNM physicians and students provided care for over 100,000 patients. During that time SCNM pioneered many outreach programs where student physicians and residents provide medical care beyond the SCNM campus and clinic. Women who were victims of abuse, people ravaged by aids, or uninsured children in poverty at a small elementary school as well as many more underserved men and women have all been embraced and cared for by SCNM doctors and student physicians. In a world fraught with negativity, violence and environmental catastrophe, Southwest College shines brightly as a beacon of health and hope for people seeking safe and effective health care and prevention.
The achievements of the past are but a prelude to the future. The SCNM community of students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, patients, donors, and trustees seek to change the world by transforming health and health care. It is these people, bound by a common goal, that make Southwest College an extraordinary place to study, provide and receive patient care, teach and work.
